Drive from Lyon to Beaune and take a quick drive through this charming wine city and its famous Hospices before heading to the first nearby domaine called Domaine Drouhin. For 140 years, the House has been in the hands of the family. Today the fourth generation of Drouhin holds the reins, the passion has been passed on. The Joseph Drouhin style combines balance, harmony and character. Young wines have a subtle freshness; the wines for laying down acquire a sumptuous complexity. Here you can taste the Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Châlonnaise.

The you will be heading to Maison Champy founded in 1720 by Edme Champy, originally a cooper, Maison Champy is the oldest wine trading house in Beaune, which also makes it the first "merchant-breeder" in Burgundy.
Another option, depending on availability is Bouchard Père et fils House. Over time, by acquiring various terroirs with great care and patience, Bouchard Père & Fils has built up a vast domaine in Côte-d’Or. Today the estate boasts 130 hectares of vines. They are an example of a very special Burgundy heritage with a fine and varied number of appellations: Montrachet, Bonnes-Mares, Corton-Charlemagne, Beaune Grèves Vignes de l’Enfant Jésus, Meursault, Perrières...
And last but not least visit Château du Clos Vougeot, the most famous wine castle in Burgundy. A 12th century historical monument and the home of traditional french gastronomy. The Château du Clos Vougeot was built by the Cistercian monks and is now a major symbol for Burgundy's vineyards. From the 12th century, the monks of the abbey of Cîteaux built vineyard buildings in the middle of the vines. The building was completed in the 16th century by a main building in the purest Renaissance style. Located in the heart of the Grands Crus route, the Château du Clos de Vougeot is open to visitors all year round and welcomes lovers of history, architecture or wine.
