Set off from Bordeaux for a scenic 1 hour drive to Arcachon Bay. Upon arrival, embark on a traditional Pinasse boat for a unique cruise across the bay, departing from a port in Arcachon.
Renowned for its succulent oysters and mild climate, Arcachon Bay boasts pristine beaches and exceptional natural beauty, with the iconic Dune of Pilat preserved in its untouched state.
Experience the charm of the bay with a leisurely 2 hour boat cruise, taking in the breathtaking scenery before making a stop at an oyster farm for a tasting session by the water's edge. Explore the picturesque cabins on stilts and observe the captivating oyster beds, all while admiring the quaint villages dotting the Cap Ferret Peninsula.
Around midday, indulge in a delicious lunch at a traditional restaurant carefully selected by Deluxe France or at a oyster farmer's cabin, offering a taste of the region's culinary delights.
After lunch, ascend the tallest sand dune in Europe for a panoramic vista known locally as the "Bassin," offering sweeping views of the inland sea and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. Marvel at the lagoon's splendid hues and soak in the panoramic vistas of the Landes Forest from the summit, enjoying a stunning perspective over Arcachon Bay.
As the tour concludes, your driver will transport you back to Bordeaux, ensuring a safe and comfortable return to your place of stay, completing a memorable exploration of the breathtaking Arcachon Bay.
*Please note that the order of activities during this tour may vary depending on the tides and the temperature of the day, as the sand on the Dunes can become very hot in the afternoon. We will adjust accordingly to ensure an optimal experience.
*Please note that during this tour, you have the option of lunch at a charming local restaurant, an oyster farmer's cabin. Let us know which option you prefer so we can tailor the experience to your needs.
*Consider wearing sneakers to easily navigate the dunes. It's not an easy climb to the top. Are you physically prepared? Don't hesitate to ask us for advice.
*If you do not wish to climb the sand dunes you are free to enjoy the sandy beaches of Arcachon and stroll around the village.
*The included Pinasse (boat) ride lasts for 2 hours, which is usually more than enough time. However, if you wish to shorten or extend the duration, please let us know in advance, and we will be happy to accommodate your request.
*If you’re not an oyster lover, you can still enjoy the Pinasse boat ride and visit the charming oyster cabins while taking in the beautiful landscape. It’s definitely worth a visit!
*Please note that the pick-up time for this full-day tour is 9:30 AM, as it takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to drive from Bordeaux to Arcachon.
