TWO WORKSHOPS TO CHOOSE FROM:
MACARONS (3 hours)
In this three-hour session, you will learn to prepare macarons from A to Z under the guidance of our pastry chef. Discover the secrets to achieving perfect shells and delicious fillings. At the end of the workshop, you will taste your creations and take your homemade macarons with you.
CANELES & FINANCIERS (1.5 hours)
Dive into the enchanting universe of Bordeaux canelés. From choosing the ingredients to perfect cooking, you will learn all the secrets to succeed in making canelés worthy of the best Bordeaux pastry shops. During this workshop, you will explore the characteristics of two iconic French desserts. First, you'll prepare canelés, known for their caramelized crust and soft center. While your canelés are baking, we'll have the opportunity to make soft almond biscuits called "financiers," small golden and tender almond cakes, which will be filled with a delicious chocolate ganache. At the end of the workshop, you will taste your creations and take them home with you.
*Did you know that canelés were first made by nuns of the Annonciades convent behind Ste Eulalie church in the 16th century? They used wheat fallen from ships at the harbor and egg yolks discarded by local wineries. With easy access to rum and vanilla from the islands through Bordeaux's bustling port, the nuns enriched their recipe, distributing the treats to the poor or selling them for profit.
