Start your tour visiting Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages in France where limestone, dry stone walls and bories are ubiquitous components of the landscape. The village has been sheltered under the castle, designed to protect the vulnerable junction with the plateau, since 1031. It has thus become for 7 centuries, one of the lookouts of Provence with its strong walls, its tall houses with rare openings and its maze of alleys. In the upper part of the village: the castle, the Saint-Firmin church, restaurants and shops.

Here is a perfect time to have lunch in the dreamy provençal place, La Bastide de Marie. François Martin with his market menu reflects Provence and its vines, its colors and its fragrances in every plate.
Continue to Ménerbes, seeming to emerge from stone, recalls that the village was, from the 11th century onwards, a perfect fortress. In the 16th century, the wars of religion strongly marked the history of Ménerbes. Catholic troops of the King of France and the Pope besieged the village for 5 years but the protestants who lived there never gave in, apparently there were secret passages that catholics never discovered! Ménerbes, labeled "Most beautiful villages in France", has enjoyed popularity thanks to the writer Peter Mayle and his novel "A year in Provence" and has attracted many famous artists: Nicolas de Staël, Picasso and Dora Maar.
Then, move to Lacoste, a magnificent old mountain village in the Luberon, located on a green hill above a vast plain with stunning views of the Petit Luberon. Charming cobblestone streets and ancient white stone architecture is a delight to see. Lacoste is also the village which houses the castle residence of the famous Marquis de Sade who later belonged to famous coutourier Pierre Cardin.
Next head to your wine tasting experience. Between Ménerbes and Bonnieux is located a charming residence from the 18th century. A traditional Provençal farmhouse nestled in the heart of 23 hectares of vines: La Bastide de Marie and Domaine de Marie flourish with authentic roots. With border path of cypresses, century-old olive trees and bewitchingly scented lavender. An emblematic nature that indicates that you are on a land where you breathe to the rhythm of nature. At Domaine de Marie the microclimates allow a diversity of the soils and their exposure to the sunset are decisive natural assets for the natural expression of the aromas and particularities of each grape variety. These grape varieties which are to wine what words are to literature. In the Bastide de Marie wine estate, white, red and rosé wines are made from 11 grape varieties.
Reach a second domaine for another wine tasting: Domaine de la Citadelle. The Domaine now has 14 different grape varieties. Syrah and Grenache constitute the base of the Domaine since 1990, other grape varieties such as Roussane, Viognier, Mourvèdre, or Cinsault have been introduced.
