Next head to Azay-le-Rideau a village with a castle surrounded by two arms of the Indre with a magnificent landscaped park created in 1825 offering different points of view of the which is reflected in the water. Not far, visit the Chatonnière Castle with a stunning colorful Vegetable Garden of Abundance, the Intelligence Garden, Botanical and Science garden among others.
Last but not least, the Chenonceau Castle built over the river with a unique conception of architecture and décor. It was dear to Catherine de Medici and embodies the elegance of the 16th century Renaissance châteaux of the Valley. Also called "the Ladies' Château". here, you can visit the Italian Maze, the English style green garden, the refined garden of Catherine de Medicis, the vegetable garden among others. There is also the Garden of Diane de Poitiers, a french formal garden which is a an exquisite floating parterre.
