Begin your departure from Avignon, set out for a ride with your English-speaking driver to your private tour around the lavender fields and the Luberon villages to explore the essence of Provence! Enjoy this picturesque and charming region in France, its fragrant lavender fields during its blooming time (June-July), and the traditional perched villages echoing the cicada's humming. Initially, you will stop at Fontaine de Vaucluse, a village located by the Sorgue river where you can walk up to its spring, one of the biggest in Europe!

Next, get down at the iconic and picture-perfect 12th century Sénanque Abbey, which is home to an active Cistercian community. Here, the lavender aroma invades the air! Take your time to take amazing pictures and also visit the Monastic shop for local products. Continue your tour and make a short stop at the 'belvedere' with an amazing view of Bonnieux village and Vaucluse mountains before reaching the hilltop village of Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages in France. Enjoy the local market on Tuesdays and the traditional calcareous rocky houses along the winding streets that lead to an 11th-century castle at the highest part of the hill.


Continue to Rousillon, an interesting village nestled in ochre cliffs, whose color invades the whole village. Wander around the colorful streets filled with pottery shops and its local market on Thursdays. Next, enjoy lunch at one of our recommended restaurants before heading to the magnificent endless lavender fields of Sault. Spend some free time while delighting your senses surrounded by this timeless landscape where the purple lavender directly meets the sky on the horizon.

There are different types of tours:

Traditional Tour - 1 hour

The visitors discover the Art of fine Lavender under every aspect : Botanical discovery, production, harvest, distillation, history and culture from the XVI Centrury to today, its know-how, uses and benefits. The differences between the wild lavenders, the endemic one from Provence, and the hybrids kinds, called «Lavandin».


A Perfume Tour -  1 hour 15min

A themed tour with a focus on the Art of fine lavender and its different perfumes. An olfactory experience on a selection of the best essential oils coming from our family-owned estate Le Château du Bois, from 1998 to today. Also visitors will discover of the Lamiaceae family !


A Gourmet Tour - 1 hour 15 min

A themed tour combining the Art of fine lavender and succulent food tasting. The delicate taste of fine lavender perfumes our plates. A great source of inspiration for starred Chefs and all our visitors.


Workshop: Aromatic & Lavender Sachet - 40 min Tour + 30 min workshop

The Lavender Museum invites its visitors to discover the real lavender from Provence, its cousins from the Lamiacea family, teaches you how to recognise them, by fragrance and by shape, and how to use them. Each visitor expresses its creativity and revisits the traditional lavender sachets.

+When to visit the Lavender fields?
Lavender fields are worth a visit only while their flowers are blooming, this means from June to July. After that, flower are cut off for different uses!

+What if I have a large group?

This activity will have a maximum of 7 travelers. Our booking agent will have to customize this tour if your group is larger.
