Guided Tour Le Marais

Guided Tour le Marais: Known as the aristocratical quarter of Paris it hosts many outstanding buildings of historic and architectural importance.

Discover buildings like the house of Nicolas Flamel, the Musée Cognacq-Jay, the Musée Carnavalet, or the Musée Picasso recently restored. The district became a popular and active commercial area, hosting one of Paris’ main Jewish communities and a growing gay presence since the 1980s. You will walk along the rue des Rosiers, a major centre of the Paris Jewish community where you can find public notices, specialized book -stores, numerous good restaurants and delis selling kosher food. Following its rehabilitation, the Marais has become a fashionable district (Rue Vieille du Temple or Francs Bourgeois), home of many trendy restaurants (Café des musées), fashion houses, and hip galleries (especially next to place des Vosges).
