After having lunch in Reims and enjoying a short visit of the splendid 13C Gothic cathedral, you will continue on the picturesque roads of this renowned region, you will head towards Hautvilliers, charming village where you will be able to admire the old abbey church that preserves the pious memory of Dom Pérignon (1639-1715). Here also you will have a chance to enjoy a tasting from a small authentic producer, Gobillard. The birth of this vineyard dates back to 1933 when Gervais Gobillard decided to become independent and to the chagrin of his family bought with his meager savings 1 hectare of vines in Hautvillers. 37 years have passed, their values still remain the same, the company after a very good expansion is still prosperous. Champagne JM GOBILLARD & Fils is today present all over the world, the quality and its notoriety installs it among the greatest Champagne houses.
Next head towards Eperney, to visit the Moët & Chandon property. Often overlooking the Valley, this section of the scenic Route du Champagne offers wonderful views and opens the doors of its rich heritage. At Moët & Chandon's House, find out what made champagne so special to the world. Considered one of the most famous champagne houses, at the head of the largest vineyard in the region, Moët & Chandon also has the largest cellars, a 28 km labyrinth carved into the white chalk of Champagne, under Avenue de Champagne in Épernay. Whether you opt for the "Traditional", "Grand Vintage" or "Imperial" visit (a nod to Napoleon, a great lover of the place), there is a rendez-vous with History, welcomed in the courtyard of the estate by the statue of Dom Pérignon. Another option would be a visit at Mercier.
