Begin your Avignon & Luberon Villages Private Tour with a departure from Aix en Provence or Marseille, set out for a ride with your English-speaking driver-guide to your private tour in one of the most beautiful regions of France. The Luberon is an area in Provence with the most beautiful and picturesque landscapes and hilltop villages. In fact, it is considered by some as 'the little Tuscany of Provence'. This being said, start your visit to the Provencal city of Avignon. Enjoy a promenade around the main monuments including the Pope's Palace (optional visit including audio guide), the biggest Gothic palace in the world, the Pont d'Avignon, the famous bridge, and the 'Cathédrale des Doms'.

After Avignon, reach Isle Sur Sorgue and its famous antique markets before going to Fontaine de Vaucluse, a sun-filled village famous for its mysterious Sorgue River that flows out of the depths, its spring is one of the largest in the world! After a nice lunch overviewing the river banks, drive through the heart of the Luberon and discover three of the most beautiful villages: Gordes, a hilltop village considered the most famous and beautiful with its white stone houses and cobblestone narrow streets; Menerbes, a perched village surrounded by vast wine fields; if times allows, end your tour in Lacoste, an open-air museum mixing Middle Age and Renaissance styles crowned by the 11th century Marquis de Sade’s château.

Avignon is a big city with a lot of places to visit. If you want to make the most of it and learn everything about its history including the Pope's Palace, we advice you to take a private licensed guide. Another option: Our knowledgeable english-speaking driver takes you around and explains what you need to know about the monuments. For the Palais des Papes, (Pope's Palaces) there are audioguides available for your visit.

From 4th to 27th July, every evening during the Avignon theatre festival, the last admission at the Pope’s Palace will be at 6.30pm instead of 7pm. The Popes' Palace is open every day of the year. The last tickets are sold one hour before closing time. 10am - 5pm
+What if I have a large group?
