Full Day Camargue & Arles: Tour in the ancient Roman capital of Provence and Camargues Natural Park with your private driver guide!
Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was a capital city in Roman times and a religious centre in the Middle Ages. You will love visiting the Roman arenas, the great amphitheatre dating back to the 1st century as well as the St Trophime’s church, among few other impressive monuments. Your tour guide will not forget to show you some of the magnificent places featured in the works of Van Gogh. Spend the afternoon in Camargue, completely different from the rest of Provence, which is generally dry and hilly. Camargue is a wet, flat area with swamps, ponds and paddies—the only place where rice is grown in France. Camargue’s fauna is very unique, characterised by pink flamingos, black bulls and white horses. Go to the ornithological reserve to get very close for great pictures! You will then be taken to Saintes-Maries-de- la-Mer village, a light-drenched landscape, where the sea blends in with the sky.
