Start your day at the morning local street market of Aix En Provence. Stroll along the huts that offer a variety of products, from fruits and vegetables, cheese and charcuterie to flowers and very traditional Provence objects.
Then head out to the countryside to the best vineyard of Aix: Château La Coste. You will enjoy a wine tasting experience with the best wines of their 200 hectare domain. Discover the 'Art & Architecture Promenade' consisting of around 40 art pieces, mostly sculptures that live in complete harmony with nature. In fact, you can find artworks from French artist Louise Bourgeois, Richard Serra, Calder, Tracey Emin, amongst others. You are invited to walk through the wooded hilltops and valleys, alongside olive groves and vine fields, discovering the many installations of contemporary art on your way.
You can later have lunch at their charming restaurant with a colorful terrace: La Terrasse.
After your wine tour at Château Lacoste head to your next wine tasting at Château de Beaupré. This 18th century construction is the very epitome of a typical 18th century Provencal Bastide adorned with charming fountains and natural springs. The history of this domain begins in 1890 when Emile Double, from a Baron family, plants the first vines with the goal to produce great wines of Provence. He delievered to Marseille in horse-drawn carriages. The domain counts today with 106 acres of vines whose grapes are nurtured and vinified using organic techniques. 4 generations later they Phanette and Maxime Double work on developing international sales, and by establishing their wines in fine local and national restaurants.
