Originally built by Napoleon III in 1852 to protect the citrus trees of the Tuileries Garden from the winter cold, the building is a stunning display of glass architecture designed to let natural light flood in. It was not until 1921 that it was transformed into a museum and now houses some of the most iconic works of French Impressionism.
Your private licensed guide will lead you through the museum's collection of important Impressionist artworks, including the eight large water lilies murals by Claude Monet. The museum also houses 25 masterpieces by Renoir, 15 masterpieces by Cezanne, as well as works by Matisse, Gauguin, Picasso, Modigliani, Sisley, and others.
